Abstract
This chaired panel discussion was part of the public programme associated with the exhibition, "Darcy Lange: Study of an artist at work", held at the Adam Art Gallery. The panel discussed the significance of the radical New Zealand photomedia artist Darcy Lange (1946-2005) from a range of perspectives - art historians and practitioners. The Adam Art Gallery invited me to participate and bring my perspective as a documentary practitioner. I discussed the reflexivity of Darcy's practice and contrasted his work with other New Zealand contemporaries working with similar subject matter.
