Abstract
The New Zealand Government recognises the greater competitiveness of businesses that embrace energy efficiency and engage their workers in energy cost reduction; the greater profitability of farmers who use modern technologies; and the competitiveness in overseas markets of tourist ventures that can demonstrate their commitment to environmental issues and sustainability. This research was undertaken • to provide an overview of what is currently happening in energy efficiency workplace training programmes, and • to specifically ascertain what is really taking place in those organisations that have made a firm commitment to energy efficiency as part of their portfolio of training.
