Abstract
This fine art exhibition showed staff, postgraduate and graduate work by artists associated with the Waikato Institute of Technology. Artists included Tim Croucher, Mark Curtis and Deborah Duffield. The work by Gareth Williams belongs to a series of work that explore instances of vernacular architecture as they appear in the New Zealand landscape. They examine the relationships between designed and non-designed architectural elements in the landscape and also consider human needs and social practices. The works explore structures that relate to various types of architecture such as rural, light industrial and recreational. They are quotations from existing sites referred to in their titles.
