Abstract or Summary

Project Description: To develop a portfolio of songs in the singer-songwriter genre. To select from that portfolio at least 7 songs to record as an album to be recorded/tracked, mixed and mastered. Research questions: What are the genre values and compositional strategies commonly associated with singer-songwriter music? How can these values and strategies be used to develop a portfolio of works and a recorded CD in this style. Final Outcomes: CD of seven selected songs recorded to demo standard (demo being as close as I can get to publishable quality with available resources; in time, in tune, carefully thought out and appealing to the ear). Chord sheets for seven songs.
