Abstract or Summary
This paper addresses how the experience of emigrating from the UK and settling in New Zealand stimulated my interest in masculinity, and how the comparative study of masculinities in different social and cultural contexts can enrich and broaden an understanding of pākehā masculinities and their complex association with national identity.
