Abstract or Summary
This case is developed from an actual situation of a company that was forced to change from informal communication strategies based on relationships to more formal communication because of expansion. They were reluctant to do so as the brothers who started the company had not enjoyed the hierarchical structures of factories they had worked in previously. The case identifies the importance of clear communication channels and the effect that occurs when they are lacking.
