Abstract or Summary

A leadership programme for midwives was undertaken in 2012. The programme was a collaboration between the Waikato District Health Board and Wintec and ran over a six month period. It was anticipated that developing midwives leadership skills would not only enhance individual clinical practice, but also potentially influence midwifery education, policy and practice at local, regional and national levels. This survey was undertaken to ascertain what impact, if any, the Leadership Enabling Midwives (LEM) Programme, had on participants in relation to their individual practice as well as midwifery practice within DHBs and private practices. Results of the survey will inform continuing development of the programme.
