Croucher, Tim and Ze , Ze (2014) The Wonder and Loss of Familiar Places. Exhibition at XLY MoMA in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The Wonder and Loss of Familiar Places, XLY MoMA, Chengdu, Sichuan, P.R. of China, 18 April 2014.
Abstract or Summary
This exhibition in Chengdu, China, titled The Wonder and Loss of Familiar Places is the sequel to the exhibition of the same name held at Waikato Museum in 2012/2013. This exhibition is the product of a cultural exchange between artists Xu Ze (Chengdu, China) and Tim Croucher (Hamilton, Aotearoa). Though separated by language, distance, and life experiences, each artist has absorbed a part of the other’s culture through an experience of his painting. This exhibition is a physical manifestation of this absorption and dialogue.
