Abstract or Summary
Just as the guard’s voice enjoins us to “Mind the gap”, as we step from the train carriage to the station platform on the underground, this selection of papers attempts to ‘mind’ or address several gaps, which have emerged in recent years in the teaching of creative writing and the practice of writing as an academic discipline, in response to a call for papers for the 19th Annual Conference of the Australasian Association of Writing programmes, held, for the second time in the history of the organisation, in New Zealand.

| Additional Information: | I was the chief editor of 44 papers which were accepted for publication as double blind peer reviewed conference proceedings for the 19th annual AAWP conference. In addition I was assisted by Lisa Smithies, a post graduate student at the University of Mellbourne, who co-edited the post graduate papers with me- 21 of the 44. Also Alexandra Lodge, a post-graduate student at the University of Waikato worked as my assistant, in subeditorial work, and correspondence with the 44 authors. |
