Abstract or Summary

An induction program is a powerful process that can determine employee engagement, productivity and overall employee effectiveness. The main aim of this research was to evaluate the current induction program at the Novotel Tainui based on the theoretical findings of best practice induction programs. Analysis, observations and questionnaires were conducted in order to gain an insight into the current programs while comparing these experiences with the hotels intended objectives. From this evaluation it is apparent that the Novotel Tainui is conducting an effective program that is consistent with the evidence in the theory that formed the best practice model. Opportunities for improvements have been identified and made as recommendations.
