Abstract or Summary

Twelve contemporary NZ artists were invited to participate in this show by curators Gareth Williams and Kim Paton. Most, but not all of the artists are practicing sculptors. Artists were asked to contribute to this show which explored notions of collecting and collections. Works were to be of durable materials and of dimensions no more than 500 x 500 x 500mm. The works were housed in a temporary custom built structure which stood outside the Waikato Museum in the forecourt which is meters from Victoria St, Hamilton’s main street. The structure was sited near or on top of the vault (one storey below) that houses the actual collection of the Waikato Museum.
