Abstract or Summary
This article presents data from a research project which employed semi-structured interviews to ascertain the origins of NNEST beliefs about using the first language or the target language in the classroom. Rather than focus on the outcomes of this research, the presentation demonstrates how the use of reflexivity in the research process allowed for the interview data to be analysed and presented in accordance with the social constructivist approach taken in the research project.
