Abstract

This outdoor exhibition at the Waitakaruru Sculpture Park, Hamilton, was curated by Rob Garrett.
Various artists were in this show, including Lee Harrop, Bernie Harfleet, Donna Sarten, Llew Summers, Gaye Jurasich, Ben Foster, Neville Parker and Aaron McConchie.

The works by Gareth Williams belong to a series of work that explore instances of vernacular architecture as they appear in the New Zealand landscape. They examine the relationships between designed and non-designed architectural elements in the landscape and also consider human needs and social practices. The works explore structures that relate to various types of architecture such as rural, light industrial and recreational. They are quotations from existing sites referred to in their titles.
These works are specifically sited for their perspective views over the landscape.
