Abstract or Summary

This paper aims to provide research evidence and supported analysis to gain an understanding of the level of morale within a specific environment: the working staff of the School of Media Arts, Wintec. The study focused on two research questions: 1. What is the current level of morale among employees at the School of Media Arts, Wintec? 2. What factors positively and negatively affect levels of staff morale within the School of Media Arts, Wintec? The research problem will be addressed as a case study, surveying five factors: (a) job satisfaction, (b) position/career advancement, (c) satisfaction with salary and rewards, (d) satisfaction with workload, and (e) satisfaction with collegial work environment, to ascertain what factors positively or negatively affect morale within the workplace. An exploratory quantitative research method was applied to the study using a questionnaire which was formulated with pre-validated questions, and pilot-tested prior to distribution to all employees working at the School of Media Arts.
