Abstract or Summary

In this manuscript, the authors introduced the strain rate-temperature parameter R, which is suggested to evaluate the combined influence of strain rate and temperature. If the strain rate-temperature parameter R ≧ Rth (the notch strengthening threshold), can be used to evaluate notched components in mechanical design to prevent the instantaneous fracture. The dynamic tensile tests were conducted at different strain rates and temperature for traditional ductile cast iron.
