Abstract or Summary

The purpose of this report is to provide insights into staff and organisational understanding and preparedness for the use of telehealth as part of the Hospice Anywhere Programme (July 2016 – January 2018). The Hospice Anywhere Programme has two key streams relating to the delivery of clinical and education services, to patients and external non-specialist palliative care providers. As at January 2018, the Hospice Anywhere Programme is at the pre-implementation stage and this report draws on insights gained up to this point in time. Wintec was engaged to evaluate the Hospice Anywhere Programme and this report draws together insights, key findings and recommendations that relate to the Engagement (preimplementation) phase of the Hospice Anywhere Programme . The purpose of presenting these insights is to apply learnings that will facilitate the implementation of the programme, taking into account the perspectives of Hospice Waikato staff.
