Abstract or Summary

Waiata at celebration Reducing health inequalities and achieving health equity for Māori will depend on a better understanding of the science of implementation. We will develop communication and engagement strategies that improve the uptake and implementation of prevention and treatment programmes, with the aim of providing patient-centred, culturally effective care and interventions within culturally diverse health care settings. As well as improving health, the research will lead to a greater understanding of how to harness community involvement, i.e. Activating Communities, so that interventions are more readily adopted.
