Nine Dragon Heads in Sarajevo

Abstract

Performance piece involving credit card-sized works made from perspex, with a colloquial Bosnian saying on them. These were handed everywhere Lisa went, using them as a 'catalyst for contact'. I used a small work to initiate conversation, and create dialogue. This was not about holding an audience hostage; it was a very subtle intervention. About 500 works were given out, and they will continue to be talked about without me. The reactions were very intriguing, and there was some very playful conversation. Performed within the Nine Dragon Heads from 8-14 February, 2009, as part of the XXV Jubilee International Sarajevo Winter Festival, Bosnia.
