Abstract or Summary
The past decade has witnessed a significant interest in the importance of professional clinical supervision. This has provided the nursing profession with the opportunity to redefine and develop ideas for theory and the subsequent practice of clinical supervision. In this paper we discuss our educational approach for engaging in clinical supervision with a group of third year nursing students. This approach draws on post-modern ideas, in particular strengths-based practice for group supervision. We explore our experiences of negotiating and implementing strengths–based supervision within students’ clinical practice experience.
