3D Projection, Foam Core Board.
This project explores the use of 3D animation software to develop static sculptural works into emmersive installations. Artificial light and shadows are projected onto the white sculpture to create illusions. I was interested in how the viewers would react when they were presented with this artificial reality. Do they simply accept it as reality or do they search for answers as to how the work was created.

3D Projection
A projection based work which represents the illusion of time passing. The two and a half minute animation was projected in a room to create the illusion of light beaming in through a window, when in reality, no window was present. The animation showed snapshots of the light entering the room over a 24 hour period including both sun and moon light.

UMBRA: Horizontal Shadow Projection | 2013
3D Projection, Foam Core Board.
This work is a projection based installation focussing on the manipulation of light and shadows. The idea behind the work was to subtly manipulate lighting and shadows to create illusions which caused the viewer to question reality. Some elements were interactive and responded to sounds made by the audience.
UMBRA: Vertical
3D Projection, MDF Board.
A unique visual performance experimenting with projected reality. An artificial environment is created and manipulated through the use of 3D animation software and complex projection techniques. This performance was is collaboration with sound artists Kent Macpherson (NZ) and Haco (Japan).
