The 29th Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia, curated by Beti Zerovc presents an international show in 6 venues exploring the theme of the art event as a medium of expression. The art event underwent an extraordinary development in the 20th century and is today a privileged medium. It is created by a wide range of different figures from the contemporary art world and appears in a broad spectrum of forms. Art institutions avidly support and present the production of events; these events enjoy extraordinary attention and popularity amongst the public and the media; and well-known authors in this field are exposed to powerful auratization and high market prices. The 29th Biennial of Graphic Arts asks itself the questions: Why and how has the event been able to become a suitable vehicle for a variety of artistic purposes, poetics, and themes? Why have there been so many events of this kind in recent years? What is the allure of such an event, allowing it to attract artists, curators, institutions, and the public? What, in fact, is the meaning of this regular supply of art events in contemporary art institutions, which not so long ago were devoted exclusively to the presentation of "static" artworks?

The Free Store project was exhibited in the biennial as new work in the form of documentation of the Free Store project in New Zealand, which was event based artwork undertaken in Wellington in 2010 and Auckland 2011. For the biennial the Free Store was presented as 2 large scale banners documenting the project through photos and drawings and a DVD presentation of Campbell Live segments that followed the Free Store project.
