Abstract
This series of pictures was exhibited in a solo show at Tamarind Gallery Wellington in 2008. The paintings are prompted by the emotional weather I remember from my experiences of India.
These paintings are made with an accretion of layers and surfaces that is intended to produce an uneasy sentiment of blinding hazy heat and strangeness. Two transacting pictorial and temporal movements; one familiar, one new.
