Mark Purdom's From Certainty to Doubt won a Gold Award in the graphic design - editorial and books category 2016. The book was designed by Alan Deare of Area Design.
Photographers statement - A book of photographs from Mark Purdom's series From Certainty to Doubt. The project contains three different publications, each being a version of the same publication with variations around the sequencing and additional material - so it is unclear which is the 'real' version. This makes each publication meaningful in itself while setting up a conversation amongst all three, including ideas around selection and editing of content. The covers of all three publications merge into each other when stacked, playing out further notions of mimicry and uncertainty.
