Abstract or Summary

The emphasis in this presentation was on how a support team used a scenario-based approach in addressing the literacy and numeracy needs of a regular cohort of students and the Maori Trade Training group enrolled for the same pre-trade programme in Building and Construction, at Wintec in Hamilton. Our results showed that a holistic, relationship- and group-based approach led to positive outcomes for the MTT students. We used TEC results and self-efficacy scores to compare students' progress.
