Abstract
I submitted PhD research as evidence to present before the Waitangi Tribunal on July 25 2016. The evidence was presented in support of Tom Hemopo #WAI Claim 2540. The claim before the Waitangi Tribunal was that the NZ Crown and the Department of Corrections are not doing enough to stop the re offending rates of prisoners.
My evidence and personal history suggests that historical legislative policies that confiscated land, language, culture and identity also contribute to crime and prison statistics.
