Abstract
Shifting China away from a hospital-centered healthcare system is a work in progress. One response has been nurses at Shenzhen People’s Hospital delivering patient care from the ward to home. A comprehensive community healthcare model might better suit the needs of promoting a balanced system of health promotion, disease prevention, rehabilitation and illness treatment in China.
