Abstract
This article deals with racism as a process of invalidating all the stakeholders of the university, arguing that managers had not delivered on establishing a functional relationship with the environment and external stakeholders. The authors look at ideological blindness, and what could be labelled as an unwilingness to acknowledge and respond to the needs of the majority of bilingual, first-generation students from the majority community who had very specific needs and interests.
