Abstract

To participate successfully in these increasingly globally-connected, ICT-enhanced learning environments; educational organisations have increased their investments in ICTs in an effort to increase their "capability" to use ICTs for learning. Although the concept of "ICT capability" is difficult to define, it is of critical importance to the monitoring of the effectiveness and efficiency of ICT activities in organisations. In essence educators deploying ICT activities, learners participating in ICT-rich events, leaders who approve these events and organisations who finance the events need to be assured the ICT activities are, effective, efficient and replicable. This presentation explored the initial development of a simple model, the A.C.E. Model, to generate discussion on the effective implementation of e-learning initiatives.
